Caan and McGrath were okay, but the film is average and forgettable.

"The Throwaways" is a pedestrian convoluted film about a hacker who is caught by the CIA and forced to work for them under the direction of James Caan. He gets to gather a team of his own - like the CIA will really allow that to happen - of a few 'throwaways', people who are good at what they do but flawed so not desirable. They must track down a key that is a flash drive that carries information that could cause ruination for the entire planet. Caan is good as always and Katie McGrath is the only other actor worth mentioning. If you dig the nerdy hacking mumbo jumbo, much of it which doesn't mean squat, and the bad guys who would fit right in with the A-Team tee vee show, as none of them could shoot any of the good guys if their lives counted on it, then you may want to check this out on a rainy/snowy day. But don't expect much here. Average at best. ** out of 4 stars.
