Boring and silly movie

Ok this movie was a struggle to watch all the way thru and it is very boring
at times, as well as confusing and silly.

Scott isnt much of a actor, or he couldnt do anything with this bizarre
character.
He doesnt have his dads charisma, but does look like him in some ways.

The movie is confusing, and it was meant to be so they could do the reveal
at the end, but I figured it out early on.

Now him having a split personality fooled me,but when they reveal that, it just made him unlikable.

So after being bored for good while the supposed hero of the movie is now
unlikable and just a psycho killer lol.

They filmed it in canada, so some nice scenery, but that is about all there
is in the movie that is worth seeing.

The guys who made this farce
Director:
Lawrence Roeck
Writers:
Carlos De Los Rios, Lawrence Roeck

Need to go back to film school and learn how to make a good movie.

They had a decent cast and great location, horses, and outfits, were all good,
so they could have made a decent western.

I find that when a movie is written and directed by these newbies, it is almost always bad.

Now the directing was ok at times, and at times not so good.
but the story is just awful, and would fit more as a twilght zone episode
than a whole movie.

I will add that it is ok to watch once if you like westerns,or want to
see clints son do a western, just dont expect it to be a normal western,
or normal story.
Also be prepared to be bored and confused at times !

So I can say yeah go ahead and watch it, but I am not going to tell anyone
it is a good movie watch this.

And it is a shame they didnt do another story and make a good movie,
they had all the makings of a good movie, except the stupid story.

tag lines for the movie
Beyond hope. Beyond regret. Beyond salvation.

These sort of describe the movie except for the middle one lol
and they make about as much sense as this story.

Dude harsh! Scot is great i think you just wanted him to be clint, every review is crying about being lost i think maybe you yourselves are lost. Im looking forward to more twisted westerns like django and bone tomahawk and the psychological take of a ptsd multiple personality vet isnt unbelievable. I wasnt ready for it either but i knew when the guy shot the natives and scots character didnt investigate the shots that something was up.

That's exactly what I was thinking while I watched this movie, that it could only really work as a half-hour episode of Serling's old show; the twist ending would've fit right in there. But the premise is just way too thin to be stretched to 90 minutes.

I honestly think 1hr and 30 min is way too short of a film to be left bored or confused

I was really disappointed too - the previews were better than the actual movie -

The psycological part just needed a lot more meat ... lol

Well - I mean whether in actual bloody war memories or other ways - also why was the alter-ego presented as that particular face in that particular dress? - it just left a lot of questions . . .

The hacienda shoot-out was pretty ridiculous even for this 'gothic-like' genre - the idea that Jackson could just walk in the middle of the yard and not be shot down immediately by 5 or 6 men - but instead he easily kills all them - and the scene where the husband stays locked out - C'MON! When he had a gun & coulda shot the door open & killed Jackson - or gone out a window and come around or SOMETHING obvious ... But no. Instead he just stands there banging on the door like a child locked out of a room . . .

I think we needed more realism or at least a little more detail about his alter-ego to counter the impossibilities - Jackson's 'demon'was obviously caused by the fact that during the war, he shot his little brother to relieve the child? Right?
So how do we to from guilt over that event to kidnapping women?

I mean - is this a movie about the residual PTSS of war or an abusive controlling man? Or both? Or what?

I think we coulda-shoulda gotten a little more into both minds of Jackson as he was communicating with Glover's character . . . missed opportunity right there to fill-out the character more . . .

Finally, the only good thing was, Scott IS easy on the eyes . . .
