Otherwise, this is a very good documentary, although I wouldn't recommend it for people who are easily emotional. Made me sick to my stomach.
Yea, no. You guys sound like people saying "HOMOSEXUALS ARE BAD !" like 10 or 20 years ago. Today it just sounds stupid and ignorant. These people all have a plethora of psychological issues going on from a psychological standpoint that you clearly missed, or are just ignorant too. I Was a psych major and the guy you are referring to looked completely nuts when he was just sitting there in the room not even talking. You probably failed to notice that he was fidgeting constantly, and not just fidgeting but like COMPULSIVELY rocking back and forth, and different jittery bodily movements. In case you have not witnessed human beings before, that is NOT NORMAL behavior that guy has serious mental healthy issues going on that you are just completely ignoring. Your ignorance will sound barbaric in the future just as calling homosexuals "bad" does today. Educate yourselves.

(Maybe they don't even remember the incident, they were 5 years old, maybe he gave them alcohol etc.) Odds are it at worst might have impacted their sexuality, as many of these people also suffered sexual trauma. But that is not MURDER. Some people are strange when it comes to human sexuality crimes. None of these people MURDERED anyone. He did have sexual trauma himself and inflicted that on another. But that is not murder. The ones that murder are the ones that ARE in jail for life, wheras all these people in this film did sexual crimes and almost all had sexual trauma themselves, and none of them murdered anyone, that is why they were released but yet you are treating them as if they are the people who are in prison for life for murder. See the difference ? It would be like saying every homosexual who has homosexual sex one time should be put in jail and if they didn't kill anyone but just had a compulsion and had homosexual sex they are a terrible person and should be in jail forever etc. etc.
Its an ignorant way of thinking. and as for the trauma to the girl...that is why the guy DID serve jail time. If he had murdered someone then sure, put him in jail for life. otherwise, you are just going overboard on people who are strange, and who you do not understand. These people often have a sexual compulsion physiologically just as a homosexual would, I read studies about it when I was in college. They actually measured their arousal when looking at a woman, a man, and children and the pedophiles sex drive would light up on the children. usually no response to either male or female adults. Nothing. But children they felt some kind of arousal. If they acted on that like, one time in life, and then never again, they should not be continually punished for that 24/7 every second of life if they did their time and show remorse and don't even want to do it again. and again, it may not even be a "choice"...evidence suggests it may be physiological, they just happen to often be...strange people. Maybe they feel strange because they know their compulsions are not socially acceptable. and then there are even those that are famous and do it serially for decades and in those cases I can understand the sentiment, but again..the people in this film all only offended like 1 time ever, and then tried to never again and are not in prison for that very reason. People can keep their kids from being around these people, while still showing more compassion than they do. They didn't go to jail for murder and if you don't leave your kid alone with them, they probably won't harm anyone. You can accomplish those things without treating them inhumanely.
Lastly, in the future they may be able to put a body camera on them in addition to the ankle thing, like cops are doing now, so that they are never alone with a child. That way people could relax more and not make their entire lives miserable if they acted on an impulse and showed remorse and never did it again.
I'd be pretty upset, if I were gay, to be compared to a rapist. Homosexuality is victimless and is about love. No comparison. I have taken reports from and investigated sex crimes, it's painful just to listen to people's experiences. It is very naive to say something like "it at worst might have impacted their sexuality", it affects their entire life and sense of security. Even if that statement was true, sex and relationships are a large part of life. If these criminals have their life's ruined and are not viewed or treated fairly, so be it. Victims have that one brief encounter, but has to live with the aftermath forever. Likewise, the offender has their brief moment incarcerated but has to live with the aftermath forever. You're defending rapist over victims. You're gross.
shareUh no, not long ago someone experimenting sexually homosexually could result in a number of social and possibly life altering repurcussions. Sometimes even DEATH. If it is something that they do not CHOOSE then it is no different from the individual perspective. Esp if they are underage. and some of these people don't even do anything and still get labeled. The one kid didn't even physically do one thing, just talked to a narc on a computer, and still got labeled. The stigma people have towards these crimes is over-exaggerated out of a love of their children. (because the victims are children if there are any) If they did stuff to old people...no one would care lol
Bottom line is...there is evidence showing that this behavior for those that actually offend may not have a "choice" to feel what they do and is physiological. Which is the same exact arguments against homosexuals for decades. Learn things. Educate yourself.
The gays want to do things to other adults that want them to do it to them. That is the difference. The boy that didn't do anything physical, did make an overt act to do something physical. It is preventive, to identify potential predators before a child is harmed. If you can't see that that is a good thing, well...It is a crime to rape old people and you do carry stigma and have to register. You just can't do the same kind of preventive operation online, because old people can decide they want sex from strangers and are expected to know how to protect themselves.
Bottom line is, rape is an action and a person has to choose to make that action. I don't choose to want to do many harmful things, I do choose if I actually do them or not. If I do, I have to deal with whatever the consequences are.
