I just saw this Christmas movie and I have to admit it was more than I expected it to be. I was surprised at the Intelligent approach and the depth of the characters. it was done quite well all in all. I also enjoyed the soundtrack to it and how they redid the music of the Christmas carols and how the made it fit the story. I might want to see this again.

I adored the show when it was on television and I absolutely loved this movie; I watch all the old episodes over and over again. I just love Oliver and Shane, you can tell they are falling in love, and its so sweet b/c they are so natural and neither one are pushing it to happen, its just so pure; I love the way Oliver/Shane look at each other, and this Christmas movie definitely showed that one day they will be a couple. Norman/Rita are just so cute and quirky and I love how sweet/innocent they are w/each other, and they definitely love each other as well.
I miss that its not a television series anymore, I loved watching it each week; I did read we will be getting at least 5 more movies, I hope we get more than that (lol) b/c I love the concept of this show so much.
Just finished watching it and I have to agree. Much more depth here than I was expecting. Writing, performances, music, direction all high quality. Well done.
shareI didn't know it was a series. I just happened across the movie while I was channel-surfing. I missed like the first 15 min. of it. it kind of reminded me of "Touch by an Angel" BUT-much better. I don't know if you could carry a series based on the mail detectives for too long without running the concept into the ground but maybe in terms of the angel -for I found him quite engaging and more "grounded" than the angels on TBAA. as a matter of fact when I first saw the movie I thought it was about the angel and not the detectives. I thought it would make a great anthology series to have the same angel each week go to a place where he's needed and be the center of the story each week without being the center; like he really introducing the characters who really solves the problems themselves - he just guides them along until they figure it out.
But I'll have to check out the series if I can seems like it might be good.
