AnnaLynne McCord

AnnaLynne McCord is certainly beautiful, but somehow she feels too glamorous for this role. I find it distracting. Maybe if they hadn't put so much makeup on her except when she was on the air, it would have been better.

And...in general, I'm getting tired of seeing all these actresses running around with long, wavy hair extensions bouncing around.

What a surprise to see Property Brother Drew Scott! He did quite ok!

I came here to say the exact same thing about her, but you were way nicer than Iwas going to be.

reply

I was thinking the exact same thing. She doesn't look like a real person--too much hair, makeup and Botox.

Also I thought McCord was a bit too young for the lead(at 27)......someone like Jennie Garth or Melissa Joan Hart might've been more suited,IMO!!!!!!

reply

She was only a high school student two years ago. Excision.

Well, she has been mentioning how she was once raped, so she's got those adult experiences to work into the role.

I didn't see anything wrong with her makeup because I could tell she has bad acne and breakouts in some spots. So the amount of cover up was probably needed. I think the makeup and hair fit with her character. The winged eyeliner seemed to fit a television reporter. Her hair really didn't bother me. I could tell it was fake, but it looked pretty to me.

reply

So her hair is fake? Good to know. I was wondering how I could get my hair to look like that. Guess I'll just stick with what I've got.

reply

Yeah, it is. Her real hair is a little longer than shoulder length. I think anyway. I googled her to see and it didn't look much longer. I thought her hair was really pretty too and I was jealous, haha. Then I realized it was extensions. It still looked nice either way.

She's supposed to be a hot topical television presenter and Journalist in the Hollywood-like scene. I don't think she was too glamorous at all. She suited the role

reply

She's very beautiful and looked too glamorous even in scenes when she was supposed to be building the float. I like how the producers put her in skin tight jeans and did many full shots of her figure; however, she brought a great deal of heart to the role.

reply

I agree. I think she was meant to be glamorous. She's a famous reporter in a small townβ€”obviously she'd stand out. You could imagine when Beck compared her to a Cardinal he was really imagining he had no realistic chance with someone like her (and her lifestyle) but desperately tried flirting with her anyway.

As for Drew, I wouldn't mind seeing him in other movies... .

reply

What was the deal with the switch to bright red lipstick? I thought it was more distracting than adding to the story.

Ms. McCord did an adequate job on this Hallmark Christmas romance, but I wasn't really emotionally invested in the story like I have been with other Hallmark productions.

reply

Lol, you win for this comment. Like you and the others replying I don't think she looked the part. Way too beautiful, made up, and somewhat slutty looking for small town america. She was more a distraction than anything else.

reply

slutty? how so? ξ€˜

She seems like a porn actress to me. Constantly posing to look sexy/appealing, pouting her lips, WAY too much makeup. Very distracting, and I agree, she was out of place in a Hallmark Christmas movie.

I too enjoyed seeing the guy from HGTV. Has he done other acting, was he an actor first then a home-builder guy? I'll have to look up his resume.

reply

My only complaint is she seemed more "LA glam" than "New York Grit," but again I expect she was meant to be glamourous.

I remember reading the Property Brothers (Drew & Jonathan), got into the business because they didn't want to be starving actors, though they have seemed to be business savvy since they were young.

reply

In some ways she has the kind of artificial made-up "manufactured glam" look which one might expect in the media role she was supposed to hold.

What I find interesting about some of these hokey guilty-pleasure holiday films is that the supporting stars seem FAR more appealing than the leads. Such was true in this one, as well. Namely Monica, the producer, is someone I found vastly more attractive and appealing. And she had the kind of beauty which shines through despite not TRYING to be beautiful, whereas McCord was bending over backwards and spraining a few muscles in the process trying to achieve that look.
