One of the better Christmas movies I've seen

I really enjoyed this! I especially thought the acting was superb. I wasn't familiar with any of the actors, but I found nearly all of them to be really effective. The two leads were great together. Both are attractive but not pretentious, and came of genuinely likeable. And the guys in this film--swoon--real eye candy! The guy who played Nick is especially appealing. I'm now a new fan. Lol

What I think sets this movie apart is its maturity. As one of the commenters stated, there are no "bad guy" caricatures. And beyond that, I liked that the writers didn't carry out the "guy irritates girl" meme too far. Instead, Jenny is kind towards Nick, their respect is mutual, even with a few bumps in the road at first. But neither is above apologizing. They remain professional and the gradual closeness of their interaction feels organic and believable. Basically, this movie is sweet without being mushy. And the maturity applies to the secondary characters as well. There was no real tension between Jenny and the other lady Nick was seeing, Kim. In fact, they were actually friendly and Kim even recognized that Nick and Jenny belonged with each other and rooted fir them in the end. So refreshing and different to see that kind of emotional maturity in movies!

I would also be remiss to not also mention how real the writers kept it with Petra's storyline. I was honestly surprised that they didn't make Petra out to be a "bad" guy after she blatantly told Jenny that she was handing over her company to her nephew instead of Jenny who had essentially earned it. Instead the writers allowed that to stand--that's reality in a lot of cases--and managed to have the characters accept it and not allow it to ruin their relationships.

I definitely agree with all you said. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the acting, which one doesn't often find in Hallmark movies, and the attractiveness and likeability of all the actors.
