Nobody talking about this show on IMDB???

This show is just awesome. No over the top action scenes or dumb storylines. Realistic, great characters and writing.

No English subtitles

Supposedly it has English subtitles on iTunes.

reply

Can't find English subs anywhere so far.

reply

iTunes in the US is making a free download of episode one with eng subs available this week and offering season one for 20 dollars. Amazon U.S. is also selling with eng subs for pre-order a season one DVD set for considerably more money. (13/7/2016)

the subtitles are not there on any of the subtitle sites. Hope someone uploads them :-) ☺

I agree, htis is a shame. I'm a huge fan of spy/counter intelligence fiction, and this is by far the best I've seen since Smiley's People, the second Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy series with Alec Guiness. I've watched Intelligence, Homeland, The Honorable Woman and many other likeminded shows, but this one truely captures the bureaucratic aspect of this work in a very realistic way, remains entertaining while not relying heavily on dramatisation (There's barely a couple of action sequences in the whole series). Season 2 is much much stronger than the first one, and the obvious follow up has a fantastic background to use after the finale's cliffhanger. What I like the most though, is that even if it all always is "to be continued", you could leave it at that and still have a feel of realism, since those stories never end up fully disclosed and often have drastic shifts that makes a unifying thread obsolete.

Where is Season 2 available for USA residents? Can't wait to see it!

I agree entirely. This is in a completely different league and I keep having to remind myself it is essentially TV fiction, so convincing is it all. I think you have to have a certain sensibility to make films and TV of this kind, and sadly the Anglo-Saxon psyche often doesn't get within a million miles of it (by which I mean we Brits and the Americans). It is uncanny how an almost wordless meeting can be so taut and thrilling. I'm now within one hour of finishing season two and I can't wait for season three. But even if that never gets made, I agree the two season are oddly complete in themselves.

Good series, about the only thing that got me was how the french coerced the CIA into giving up their mole. The allies are always spying on one another. The french are so lame I can't believe they can't see that. Bunch of whiney cry babies. They rolled over for the germans in WW II like the lap dogs they are. Basically helped load up the Jews in france for the SS. Look it up.

I just finished the 7th episode and it's great. I have questions but nobody seems to be watching. I'm be bopping back and forth with this show and Bron/Broen another great one.

This is the best spy series that I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few. Most of the well-known British spy series draw me in, but leave me underwhelmed. The Bureau is great in every way: writing, acting, and directing. The show feels "real" in the way that The Wire felt real. Can't wait to see season 2.

Would love to try this show after all the glowing reviews, but this is the hardest show to find (DVD, downloads etc) I have ever encountered and I have watched a lot of Skandi Noir and European shows. Not really keen to get it from Itunes, paying extra for HD quality etc. Amazon Prime still not fully available in Australia No DVD in Australia that I know of with English subs. Not on Netflix. Not on our SBS tv which screens many similar shows. Even if I wanted to cross over to the dark side and download an illegal copy there does not seem to be any on file sharing sites with English subs. This must be the least pirated show in history despite its rave reviews. Curious.

I know. Season 2 is impossible to find in high quality. It's available on French itunes without subs, but I don't think I have access to it. Very annoying.

Do you have Sundance TV through your Roku in Australia? Sundance is showing seasons 1 and 2.

reply

Thanks. Don't have a Roku setup, only a smart tv with Netflix & a few other streaming apps, and of course my PC , but will have a look at Roku.
