"Alone" on History channel is much better than this show.

I tried a few of the Island and blew it off, but found a better show
called alone on Hist ch.
10 guys on islands in vancouver , each one is alone, and the one that lasts the longest gets $500,000 !

Unlike the cheap british show, it has a cash prize!

There are bears cougars and wolves all over where these guys have to live, and by
ep 3 , 4 have quit, 3 were afraid of the animals ! lol
But much better show to watch.

So it's basically Survivor "Canadian Wilderness" style.

Pass...

That said, the UK version of the island is soooo much better.
For some reason the Poms are far more resourceful.

Watched the first ep, looks interesting, but almost all of these "survival experts" seem to be clueless. They seem to have no idea wtf to do out there and they definitely have more equipment/tools to work with than the guys on The Island. Also, they are supposed to be "alone" but are camped out so close to eachother they can hear eachother hoopin & hollering.

The wildlife in the area makes it interesting for me.. prime bear, wolf, big cat territory. That one guy was sh!ttin his pants on day one from bears lol, he should have just waited for the bears to get closer to his tent and banged on something really loud and the bears would be the ones sh!ttin themselves!

They really should have made a competition between all the better known "real survival experts". Imagine a similar format with guys like Matt Graham, Les Stroud, Bear Grylls, etc, etc. competing against eachother. Matt Graham would probably end up living there for years..

I agree, Alone is much more dangerous and brutal. The Island started off good but the lack of anything interesting made me start losing interest fast. Luckily it was only a 6 episode run.

Matt Graham is by far my favorite personality when it comes to being a real survivor. He has the skills mentally as well as being in pretty good physical shape. I love his approach to surviving. I've just spent all day watching The Island and I'm up to the next to last episode. So far it's been okay.
