It's a thriller movie. Not horror.

Really? It's not a slasher horror movie? Imho it's right in the tradition of inbred hillbilly murder clan.

It's not about the actual violence. A horror movie is a film that tries to scare the audience. This might be disturbing and violent at times, but it does not try to scare the viewer. But if it's a horror film to you, then it is.

To me it's a thriller, a pretty good one as well.

Having just watched it, I think it's an excellent thriller. Gruesome, sure. But it reminded me of "Panic Room", more than anything else. The cast was great, the effects are realistic, but it's the tension was the true star of the movie.
