did he die or it was agent porter who died?

He was the dead man. The good guy run away from the building. And after he gives the baseball glove to the child.

The good guy was seagal... porter was the messed up one. seagal kept his name clean by implicating that porter was nuts and let the police and city believe he had split personalities and did all of the vigilante work.. While Sikes(segal) was honorable and still is,, he gave his life to make sure his honor was kept by making sure porters name was put where it should have been, the vigilante.. Porter was using sikes to cover his own actions so he would not have to go down in the end. And funny how it worked out,, the no good guy is still alive because the good guy gave his life to keep the true heroes (him and others like him) unbloodied by kooks like porter....
That’s my take..

All of the bad guys Sikes(segal killed) were all in self defense.

That doesn't make any sense, as the kid refers to the person who gave him the glove as 'your friend' (Sheffer's character) and Seagal wouldn't have even known about the glove.

And I was under the impression that Seagal's character snapped and he became the monster the cops were afraid he'd become- as he was now killing people who weren't really evil, such as the reporter, his cameraman and the mayor (and presumably his squeeze). It wasn't a very well written movie though, so these points were handled awkwardly.

I'm with stringpickin1 on this.

Seagal was the 'good' guy trying to save the world. Twice he asked the question,

If you thought you could save the world, but nobody would know it and you might have to give your life in doing it, would you do it?
and once even said it was the difference between the two of them.

Seagal did exactly that as everyone believed Porter was the vigilante.

I think you are confusing this film with one that should make sense. This is a Seagull movie, which by definition will never make any sense because when he's directing his movies no one can understand this mumbly mofo. On the plus side, nice strip club scene. Who's the brunette?
