what a load of crap

Bad writing bad directing leaot so supportive. So I GUESS bad guy was a pedophile... The Grandmother was mentally disturbed. The mother made no intelligent choices. And the ending... what happened? They arrest the kidnapper, but I guess the mother failed to mention she almost murdered someone. Oh and then all's well at Christmas. Think about it! The tension or at least part of it comes when the mother has to make a decision, a moral decision, that has ramifications. You take away those ramifications and there's no tension. Do you pull the trigger to save your live one knowing you'll probably go to jail forever? Tension. Do I pull the trigger to save my loved one knowing I might get damp in a swiftly running creek and the enjoy Christmas? Not so much tension. Oh! And what happened to the pedophile he just swam off into the middle of a creek and died after all that? I need just let them kill him in the first place!? Oh yeah because then we wouldn't have the little bit attention that we were supposed to have but didn't. It's time that feminist grew some balls and wrote some good stories! I mean look at Lifetime! That's chicks with muscle... this is like rewriting Romero and Juliet with a happier ending! Off it wasn't free I'd demand a refund. Someone needs to start a GoFundMe campaign and send this director back to school

I'm not so sure that Gerry was a sexual deviant. The way that his character came across suggests that he had just wanted to play dad for a few hours.

The Grandmother and the dad of the dead girl were the real monsters of this movie. I'll give this film credit for having suspense.
