Re-imagining of The Words (2012)

I think i've seen this same story a couple of times, one of those was in the movie 'The Words', they just added more tense / thriller situations in this new one (sometimes dangerously getting into a caricaturization because of the constant turns or troubles of the main character). Don't know if someone else has noticed this, which could be some kind of re-make of a story already told before.

The plot of a struggling writer stealing someone else's identity then becoming famous is quite familiar. "Les yeux jaunes des crocodiles" from a few years ago comes to mind, although in that case it was sisters who exchanged identities.

I agree that this film became convoluted regarding the lengths the main character went not to be discovered, including murder. It just felt very clichéd and melodramatic.

And all the pieces matter (The Wire)

It's a rip-off of The Words 100%!

A friend was talking with me about this movie that I didn't know... I thought "you are talking about The Words" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1840417) but no, he was talking about Un homme idéal (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4058500/.

I know the plot differ from one point on, but the main storyline is exactly the same!! It's an amazing coincidence!

It's just another take on Patricia Highsmith's The Talented Mr. Ripley. Story a little different, but similar situations and settings.
