What kind of person is this rapist? And what kind of parents could raise a monster like this?
Sadly he's a product of an environment that has very little regard for women.
I think the hardest part of watching this docu is not the grisly details concerning the rape (which was beyond horrific) but the fact that the rapist had absolutely no remorse for his crime, its like he doesn't "get it" and I was beyond angered and frustrated watching the smug/bored expression on face and his flippant remarks. I think Jyoti's parents could gain a tiny shred of peace if this "man" fully understood the weight of his crime. But he is clueless and seems to be annoyed by it all.
Again the culture created every inch of that monster and its really scary that the juvenile (the most brutal) who actually caused the injuries that led to Jyoti's death is scheduled for release this Dec. How is this possible?
Not sure I would want to be him when he walks out those doors. Judging by how the crime of rape is handled in India, he may find himself on the wrong end of some vigilante justice. Doubtless the vigilantes dispensing said justice will receive the same nonchalant treatment under the law as did these rapists did at first.
