IMDB "Synopsis" States- "California three strikes law loomed over them."
WTF?? Did the idiot who wrote that even watch the film? There are about a dozen references in the film which shows it entirely taking place in Ohio.

The synopsis writer was clearly referencing Eddie Bunker's book and not this adaptation. If I had to guess, I would say that the original screenplay was likely truer to the book, but the fact that filming landed in Ohio meant nixing any references to California law.
Yeah the book was very much about the prison system and how people released from prison were still screwed. The movie doesn't really focus on this.
I'M AGAINST IT.
