My expectations were not high, but alas, I was too optimistic

I thought this would have been an at least half-decent, mildly amusing crime caper. It was all over the place. I love Willem Dafoe, but he was a major weak link in this for me. From brief reviews I had read, I thought that Mad Dog was going to be an extremely nasty and psychopathic crook with a hair-trigger temper, that we were going to see Dafoe go full raving lunatic mode. What you got instead was an extremely neurotic cokehead loser, who never, ever stopped talking, and impulsively committed a couple of cowardly acts of violence. Christopher Matthew Cook couldn't act his way out of a shower curtain, he just hulks around with a confused/surly expression all of the time, which leaves us with Nic Cage, who was just delivering a typical Nic Cage performance (typical of his most recent films. I love Raising Arizona, Wild At Heart, and Leaving Las Vegas, and even Bad Lieutenant, but the majority of his work in the 2000's has been total toilet). And what film isn't complete without a silly, nonsensical, incredibly boring ending? 1/10
