LUCIFER to pre-emp the Presidential Debates???

god, i wish! i'm bummed out show isn't on tonight.

reply

What really sucks for us westcoast people is that the debate is on at 6:00PM so there is plenty of time to see the debate, and then Lucifer. So annoying. Stupid time zones.

reply

barbara, exactly! i'm on the west coast too and i see no reason why we can't have our show just for us! :)

I'm west coast too and I'm pissed.

reply

West coast here, too!

It's a bummer that the show comes back on just to skip a week right out the gate. At least it feels good to know it's back. And we've got 12 more episodes, at least, ahead of us.

kurt, you need to unclench.

reply

I was gonna say.. watching the GOP in the last 12 years or Hillary is JUST like the Kardashians anyway... so please, spare us the self-motivated post, 'Kurt.'

reply

Says: Post deleted.

yeah whatever Babs. Because picking a president who could get us into another insane war isn't important?

interesting priorities Babs.

reply

I don't need to watch the debate to know not to vote for Donald Dump.

And anyone who does need to watch a debate to do so typically isn't going to change their mind no matter what because they're too stuck in their ways.

Ummmm...Actually cruso, the debate became a landmark political event because Clinton caused Trump to have a total meltdown and spout numerous false statements the press is still discussing today. This race is extremely close, and Trump still has a chance of winning, so the next two debates are critical for the nation and world, in light of Trump's flippant remarks regarding the use of nukes and starting another war in the Middle East.

Sorry to get political, but this election is a big deal.

reply

Never said it's not a big deal. My point was debates aren't usually going to change the extreme Trump supporter's minds. I know it's really sad to think about but it's obvious I don't sugar coat anything.
I have watched a segment where people have said they would vote for Trump even if he murdered someone. As I said I also have dealt with Trump supporters (and saw other people do so) to know they're stuck in their ways.

The only thing we can do is hope for the best because we can't change the people's minds who are already behind him. I would be content to be proven wrong about this but right now I don't see a debate changing anything. Trump has already proven to be a complete imbecile before the debates and people still wanted to vote for him. I mean he went through bankruptcy for crying out loud and people don't care about that.

Man, what a show that was! I cannot even fathom being so unprepared for something so important. One on one for 90 minutes with every facial movement, tick, snort scrutinized by a Superbowl sized audience, and staying on point. I'm not the greatest fan of Hillary's but man, she sure made me proud.

reply

I usually don't get political but this is too serious.

Hillary is vastly more capable of being president than Trump. Can you imagine that man negotiating with world leaders? I've never seen anything so bizarre in my life. I sometimes can't believe that I'm living in a world where a sizable percentage of Americans have convinced themselves that this guy would make a good president, despite ALL the evidence to the contrary.

I wish I could talk to people who were in Germany when a similarly despicable person was making huge promises with nothing to back them up, just to see how the ones who knew better felt at the time. Although I doubt it would be reassuring. Look where they ended up.

I hate politics. I usually find it boring (I still kinda do) but with the candidate that is here this year I've never been more switched on. I mean even Donald Duck would be a better president and if you've watched the cartoons that duck has a big temper.
In a way I guess I can't believe it either but it doesn't really surprise me. I'm far too cynical for that.

There was a message board where I said about how I've never feared for my life before Trump and their only argument to me both times was a comment that I have issues.
That's not even an insult. Try harder  I mean I was basically spelling it out in that post that because I have issues Trump would never be on my side so you aren't really doing anything but cutting out one piece of what I said.

I feel you. I mean, in an ironic twist, I think the antichrist would be a better president!

USA Today just came out saying that Trump is unfit for the Presidency. In their 34 year history, they've never taken sides in a Presidential race. When asked why, they said, "typically in an election there are two qualified candidates". lol

Vote Lucifer/Amenadiel 2016! Woo-hoo!

reply

They'd certainly be nice in the eye candy department and Luci knows how to punish evil doers.

reply

Oh, and from an entertainment perspective, that was some mesmerizing tv. (There was almost no drop off in viewership for the entire 100 minutes, it was that mesmerizing). I've never seen anything like it in my life. If only I could laugh.

Too bad Lucifer didn't personally interupt the debate. The episode could've began shot on videotape so that it looked like it was the debate, with Hillary and Trump lookalikes on stage arguing. And then Lucifer could've come on stage and said something cheeky, disrupting the whole thing as the Secret Service tried to take him down! Would've been a hell of a way to begin the episode.

reply

lol...I can totally see it...great idea.

All he could say was, "I could negotiate a better deal!" Shocker, not everything is about making the best deal. Where's the care and compassion? Empathy for your fellow human being?

I seriously don't understand how anyone with one iota of a conscience could find his proposed world view appealing.

reply

My dear neighbor asked, "where's the common human decency?"

Seriously lacking in that man unfortunately.

I agree she was very poised - didn't let him get under her skin. One thing that really struck me is that she held her ground when he tried to talk over her but for the most part she didn't interrupt when it was his turn to talk, I don't think I've seen a debate where both candidates didn't interrupt each other a great deal and by not doing it she just made his interruptions seem stupid. Her comment about preparing to be president was excellent.

Unfortunately I don't think there was anything to really change anyone's mind.
