Boycott more effective than Petition?

I'm sure everyone's heard how UBER's CEO resigned from Trump's advisory panel and donated $3 million to immigration representation in response to the massive Uber app dump and boycott?

So perhaps we should be getting Jeff Bezos' attention by threatening his bank account?

I do a lot of shopping on Amazon and I'm not happy with him. Not feeling like giving him any more of my money. His Twitter is @JeffBezos if you want to let him know you're not happy and will boycott his other company if he goes through with the IMDB boards closure.

We should come up with a hashtag. #BoycottAmazon? #SaveIMDB? lol. Really original. But people are already boycotting because Amazon sells Ivanka Trump merchandise. Might as well jump on the boycott train while it's got some steam. I'm sure he doesn't like having so much negative attention focused on him.

no ones going to boycott LOL

IMDB the only site that sabotages it's own forum by deleting content. No wonder no ones here.

It's a long shot, but so was Uber.

And how many millions of visits does this site get? Someone posted it somewhere. I think the announcement above may be understating how many people visit these boards. Pick any show you can think of and go see if there's a board for it. That's a lot of shows and a lot of people posting about them.

I already don't buy Amazon.

well, you're no help. lol.

Amazon is so much more convenient for me than driving all over the place. I buy office supplies, pet food and toys, gifts, supplements, garden umbrellas, candle making supplies, you name it, I probably buy it on Amazon. :) And for a better price. It would actually be hard for me to boycott Amazon. The point is to make him think it's a real possibility. It's working with the Trumps. Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus both have pulled Trump merchandise from their websites.

When I read about the owner and everything he owns, how rich he is, it made me even more annoyed that he would close down these boards when he can certainly afford to make them work. It's just heartless. Oh, he also owns AirBnB which I think has less than stellar business practices. I'm already boycotting them. I'll give him a bit of a pass because he also owns The Washington Post, which isn't cutting Trump any slack, but other than that, I'm not happy with him at all.

We are threatening Jeff Bezos' bank account. He isn't making any money out of the message boards and probably loses it keeping them open.

So he is closing them down.

I do a lot of shopping on Amazon and have no intention of inconveniencing myself by closing my account.

The boards are used by something like a quarter billion posters. If every poster paid a dollar a month, then Jeff Bezo's revenues would increase by three billion dollars a year, in return for which he would no doubt restore the boards and dance naked down Battersea High Street as a goodwill gesture.

It would be so easy to generate massive advertising revenues from these boards. And in a way that would not be obnoxious or off-putting to users. I used to sell advertising and I'd gladly do it for him and get rich in the process.

Although a good idea, I don't think it's realistic that people will follow.
Amazon is the best market place, with the best prices, with the best costumer service. Before contacting them, I didn't even know people this nice existed. Pleasure every single time. Then again their name is never French so that could be why. 
