REALLY gives sharks a bad name

I can see shark-lovers really getting pissed off about this film. It makes the shark out to be an evil murderous, vengeful character, the way it (spoilers) kills indiscriminately and even stalks our poor Blake Lively. I'm pretty sure sharks will kill only if hungry, and there is no way this shark was still hungry, what with the whale and three beach-goers to snack on. Also, I've oft-heard sharks don't like the taste of people (probably never had one that's properly prepared, but not this guy! Lastly, no way that tiny bikini top would stay on the whole time and throughout all her endeavors.

I love Sharks although I am deathly afraid of them.
I don't go into a killer Shark movie expecting the Shark to act like a reasonable real life Shark.

reply

Yeah, that was my mistake with this film. Still enjoyed it though.

Actually I'm pretty sure human-eating sharks eating humans and biting off their limbs is what gives Sharks a bad name.

Pretty sure Jaws already did enough damage to the image of sharks - this won't make it any worse.

I think Jaws is the culprit, not man eating sharks. Sharks only kill about 5 people per year. we'll jack it up to 10 though, and it's still not that much.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog

according to your out of context "stats" . except ASIA does not report on shark deaths out of a cultural respect thing. and many shark deaths are unreported.

This was only a B-movie, that was made only to entertain people for 90 minutes.

If you really think this film will make people believe that sharks are "evil, murderous and vengeful" animals, then you are giving the movie too much credit.
