Sounds interesting…Jack is perfect for this!

I bet they will make it much more of a comedy.

And faster.

Could become a huge crowd pleaser.

reply

It will be shorter in length for sure. I agree that Jack is perfect for the role, and I hope that Kristen rise up to the occasion.

reply

Why oh why would they do that?

Fahrbier find ich gut.

reply

Cynical comments aside, I can't help wonder what an American version of this would look like. Dumb it down and emphasize the sensational vulgarity and go for wide appeal, or be a bit more subtle and "arty"? But I'll bet we never find out; this report is probably more rumor than substance. But you never know.

reply

They should get Alexander Payne to direct. Fits right in with About Schmidt and Nebraska.

reply

Nah

reply

It seems that this isn’t happening… while I often tend to find Hollywood remakes of international hits pointless, I do feel that Nicholson and Wiig could potentially have brought something fresh to this, and it would have been great to see Jack in a swan-song role so apparently suited to his persona.

reply

That's exactly right. Nicholson and Wiig took a shot at it and apparently, Jack wasn't up for it. This took place in 2017. To do it now you'd have to start all over. Nicholson is never going to do it and Wiig, well, her career has become quite chilly. Plus she's too old now. If it was me, I'd take a look at Jennifer Lawrence for the part. She's getting to be the right age to do it now.
