Okay, now that I've watched it twice...

a few more details as to the plot seem to be less confusing (maybe). I understood connections between things that I somehow didn't quite get the first time I watched it.

That's really the point... which a lot of people don't seem to get and aren't taking the time for a second viewing... it all seems disjointed and confusing until the pieces start falling into place (and not all pieces will fall into place in the one episode either).

I absolutely loved it on first viewing and it was even better on the second..... and will be an amazing binge watch too.

the only things I noticed on second watch were:

the old guy Dirk nearly run over, was a dog owner Todd visited at the end of episode

I'm also not sure, but the weird girl behind dog owner, may or may not be missing rich girl Lydia whose dad was killed in the hotel (if that was her, I'm not sure if Todd realized who is he seeing, there's been nearly no reaction from him)

Yes, I saw that the guy Dirk nearly ran down was the owner of the corgi. And that was Lydia in the background (and Todd did recognize her). Looks like her soul has been transfered into the corgi, and vice-versa. Farah, the woman being held captive was the person the two detectives from Missing Persons wanted to question, but wasn't answering her phone. As we learn in the second episode, she serves as some kind of protector of Spring, and possibly his daughter.

Lydia the dog was walking then dog in her own body. Note it next time you watch. A great acting bit in the background.

Bored now.

I understood it the first time. I don't know whats not to get, they quite literally explain everything to the point where there is no room for interpretation. I thought it was overstuffed. Some of the acting was just bad. All in all it was ok. I still haven't found anything Max Landis has done that I actually like.

I found your post only because your post made Dirk Gently trend on the front page. I read the book and loved it, as I do almost all of Douglas Adams' novels because they, and he, are usually hilarious. I love great comedy, but am not someone who laughs aloud at much comedy, or even usually thinks it's funny.

In any event, I've seen this, to the best of my recollection, so have nothing to contribute in the way of my opinion of the acting or the script. Having read the novel, I can say I thought it was very funny.

That is all.

Everything is inter-connected.

Iā€™m watching the first season again. I definitely am less confused and enjoying it more. The actor Aaron Douglas (who plays Gordon) absolutely kills it. Go chief!
