How come only the good guys killed people?

The bad guy didn't really kill anyone. Except for Janson. What gives?

reply

Because they want to drain their blood for their experiments. Did you not pay attention to the movie?

reply

Because none of the kids are any good to them dead. Killing them would be the equivalent of any retail board of directors going to their stores and setting them all on fire.

reply

That is why they were shooting electric shocks at them instead of bullets.

reply

Untrue - they shot flare victims and also a doctor.

It's a bit ambiguous, but I did get the impression that the plan was to execute all the other people once the immunes were taken.

I miss Giles.

It's not ambiguous, Ava told them to get rid of them. She had remorse about Mary being killed but was not shocked after Janson killed her.
