never answered....

I only watched the second movie to get an answer to why they were in those ridiculous mazes in the first place. I still have no answer. Did I miss it? If the blood of those kids is so valuable why kill them off in pointless mazes? What did that have to do with a cure?

reply

that will be answered in the next movie

Your answer was at the end of the first movie. Since the world was scorched and most people obtained this "flare virus" they put the kids in mazes to test them. They were weeding out the strong from the weak and those who were immune to the virus.

reply

so why cant people understand that?

What does navigating a deadly maze have to do with extracting their DNA for a cure? The whole maze thing would make sense if the purpose was to turn them into soldiers and you had to test their physical and mental prowess, but they ultimately just string them up and farm them. It doesn't make much sense... yet.

reply

If you read the kill order it explains the virus needs to be in a stressful condition to not thrive.

Thats why Thomas, Paige and Theresa make the maze

Um...they show a post-pandemic depopulated & wrecked cities, destroyed society, and sun-bleached world.

THAT's NOT STRESSFUL!?!?!

'Strong' has nothing to do with immune to the virus or not.
If one is 'weak' and immune to the virus, one is immune to the virus.
'immune to the virus' has everything to do with genes.
Genes has everything to do with math.
Let me explain this in example,
Gene A and B reproduce 2 offspring which in turn has 2 genes with different combination/crossover/mutation...
Gene C and D reproduce 100 offspring which in turn has 100 genes with different combination/crossover/mutation...

In math, children of gene C/D have better chance of surviving different environment.

This also prove we can never control the environment of Earth/Solar system/Galaxy/Universe, but we can produce as many genes as possible and spread our genes all over the universe or even beyond the universe.

Not saying we must destroy earth, but saying we must leave earth.

The "explaination" is completely farcical nonsense.

It would have been much better to stop at the end of the first movie and leave it as an unsolved mystery.

As a means to produce a "stressful environment" it is utterly stupid, must have unbelievable costs (in a resource scarce post-apocalyptic world), and wouldn't get anything like the results they (plot-makers) seem to credit it with.

well if you do read the kill order it shows how the brain has to be in stressful situations to get rid of the virus inside them

since Mark alec trish all had the flare working inside them. when they brought Dee Dee to wicked

I am sure the Fever code will explain more
