Why do they insist on calling soccer football? If they don't wear helmets and pads it's not football.

Because Football is older than your Countries History.

Soccer is an English term not an American. They just stopped using it in England but not in America.

What puzzles me is why a game that you play 95% of the time holding the ball with your hands is called football. A game where you get more points when you hold the ball with your hands than if you kick it.

It's like calling baseball as football. Or calling the marathon as football. Or swimming, football. Or Nascar, football.
