What Bothers Me Most

It's not the plot twist, or plot holes. Like how Jasmine knew where they were and how two people could climax quickly. Not the "did they really go through that whole standoff thing?" or the "true events" the film is said to be based on.

The minimal amount of nudity. Ashley and Damien were nude the entire time. With him clutching a pillow and her wearing a blanket. Sammy removes his clothes after screwing Jasmine, too. All of whom should not be so worried about their privates being visible. Sammy didn't care, so I thought it made sense. But why did the victims suddenly become so modest?

This is not about wanting to see Ashley's tits the while time or getting to see Jasmine's body, which of course I do (want to see their bodies). On the note of nudity, if they show Ashley and Jasmine, they have to show Sammy and Damien in their birthday suit. I am commenting on the camera choices and clear confusion on the director's part. They were clearly making an R rated film. If they were trying to score a PG-13 rating instead, I would understand completely. But the screenplay would require heavy rewrites to go along with the modest actors.

The writer/director's mistake was not being loyal to one rating or another. The film blurred the lines between R and PG-13. This film is guilty of Half-@$$ing both of them.

If you wanna see tits...just google them.

Again, it's not the tits. We see them in the beginning. It's the decisions of the director that I don't get. Maybe if this movie was French it would be more realistic.

My guess would be that it has a lot to do with controlling your vulnerability (or maybe even just control in general). Nudity has often been tied with vulnerability, as the average unarmed human is usually both physically and emotionally vulnerable when in that state. And no one wants to be completely vulnerable when there's a gun pointed at them.

It could also have something to do with dignity. You've just been caught cheating on your husband on your wedding anniversary. You know what you've done is wrong and now you've been caught by the last person on Earth you'd want to know what you've done. You're going to want to maintain as much of your dignity as you can, and for some people, that can be by covering up.

Also, nudity isn't what makes or breaks an r-rated movie. There are movies that are r-rated simply for dropping an f-bomb one too many times. There are also pg-13 movies with a *beep* ton of nudity. Film ratings are not as black and white as people think.
