The Only crime Edward Snowden is charged with is not reporting the criminal activity of the government to the criminals that were committing those crimes.
It seems many are comfortable with trading their rights for perceived security and comfort. Ironically history shows that they tend to get neither e.g. look at the development trajectory of the Russian society under V. Putin. They are back to being broke, except now in a completely orwellian state (without a hint of exaggeration).

Federal prosecutors work for the Department of Justice, which is complicit with the NSA's mass surveillance programs. Prosecutors like mass surveillance because it makes gathering evidence easier.

USA is a crazy country, I would never EVER live there, not even for free! I wanted to move to UK, but now I don't. I has enough growing up in a right-wing military dictatorship sponsored and supported by Mr. Nixon and the CIA.
At least here, I don't give a damn if they track everything that I write here or in google, even in the freaking facebook. I am not affraid of who I am, and my country is not *that* important now for USA.
Ed Snowden is a very brave person, as well as everyone involved in CITIZENFOUR.
