What really has happened since Snowden?

I mean has anyone heard of drastic sweeping broad changes in our intelligence agencies? Does anyone have any sources to claim we have changed the way we spy in the post-Snowden world?

This is what I want to know too. The leaks, this documentary, all the news reports... what is the result, has it changed anything, or are the same people doing the same things even though we all know about it now?

I'm English, which adds an extra dimension in the sense that the UK was referenced as being even worse than the US for this stuff, but less evidence seems to have come out supporting the accusation. I believe it, but the focus seems to have remained on the US, making it easier for Cameron to ignore.

I have an interest in the subject but I'm uninformed on it, so apologies if there have been lots of serious developments I don't know about.

After the exposure of all this it caused big issues with allies and other problems. You wouldn't have things right now like Apple battling NSA,FBI against decryptiing phones.Of course the intelligence agencies are pulling the same crap but they have to be more careful about it.

There is a funny video by John Oliver about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEVlyP4_11M

Spoiler alert: I think not too much has changed, but a little bit has. But at least now we know for a fact - before you were looked or called paranoid.

Actually additional legislation has passed that is pretty much The Patriot Act on steroids. Any changes were not for the better. The only good thing that came out of it is at least we know now, as was just pointed out. They've actually increased the snooping.
