Humans do not come across well in this either

I am not sure whether this was Morlock's intention, but some of the people featured in this film were as repulsive as the rats: the rat exterminator who had carried out that sadistic experiment; the hunter in Cheltenham who insisted that this was a 'humane' killing method, then watched with others, smiling and laughing as a rat is torn apart by terriers. I think those stupid bystanders turned my stomach more than any rat. Informative, gross and disturbing, but interesting that there was no section featuring rats as pets. The only halfway positive note was the section at the end in the rat temple, where rats were worshipped.

I understand that you have to exterminate rats where they are a problem but some of these people displayed a fairly non-clinical sadism.

Also note that at the beginning someone says "rats are so much like us". Is this also a comment on humanity?
