Made double it's budget opening weekend

Which is why movies like this are continually churned out.

Who decides what goes direct to video and what is actually given a wide release?

and this one actually is less of a profit maker than the usual fare. the budgets are usually in the 4 mil range and the opening gross is in the 25 mil range. No matter how bad the reviews are .

what is perplexing is when actually decent horror movies get made and get decent reviews and those make about 2 mil....its like the bizarre world we are living in now

I think the evidence is clear: the general horror fans have terrible taste.

I must admit I did go to see this but it's one of the worst horror films I've ever seen it's sad

reply

It was pretty terrible. But for me still not as bad as Darkness, The Devil Inside, Texas Chainsaw 3D.

You would hope R rated horror films like The Conjuring movies and Don't Breathe would help studios see that they can be profitable then you have this studio cut this down to PG-13 and its also a success. Hope they don't follow in its footsteps.

reply

But IMO movies like this and Don't Breathe aren't really horror movies as much as they are thrillers. And both were really really good as well.

reply

Here's hoping it pills a Ouija and has a much superior sequel. I didn't absolutely hate the movie but there were far too many unintentionally funny moments and bad dialogue.

reply

Made double its budget? You mean seventeen people actually paid to see it?
