I don't know if it's because my expectations were just so low but I truly enjoyed The Bye Bye Man. It felt like one of those early 2000s horror movies with a bit of Lights Out in it. This really reminds me a lot of "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2" with the vibe and some aspects of it. I completely get why so many hate it though and I'm not trying to say it's a good movie, it's not. Even with the ridiculous plot and pretty bad acting from nearly everyone involved, I was very happy with the movie.

I 100% agree! I was just moments before I read this telling my roommate the exact same thing. I had zero expectations, didn't look at the rating first, had a free ticket.... it was enjoyable. Not a masterpiece but what I needed.

I felt the same way. I had no expectations what so ever. In fact one of my friends said the film, had a it was so bad, it was good vibe to it. No it wasn't a good movie if I looked at all the flaws in it but I guess that was the charm. I just wish it would had stayed Rated R. Makes me want to read the book. the character Kim reminded me "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2", The bedroom Sasha and Elliott shared remanded me of The Amityville horror.
