Why?

Why do people always freak out when a horror movie is PG-13? Just cause its R doesn't make it better. Violence, gore and nudity don't make horror films better. There are plenty of very very good horror films that are PG-13 like all three Insidious films, The Sixth Sense, The Others, The Ring, Drag Me To Hell, The Hole, Lights Out, 1408, Fire in The Sky, The Last Exorcism, the list goes on. So idk what the problem is honestly.

Why are you pro censorship?

reply

I never said that I was, but thank you for that stupid assumption. Nothing I said even alluded to me saying I was "pro censorship", all I said was people (including you) need to get over themselves and stop being whiny babies because a movie didn't get an R rating like they wanted it to. It's absurd and stupid. And then I listed PG-13 horror movies that were good. No pro-censorship there. Just saying you all need to get over yourselves.

reply

The movie did get an R rating, it was written and filmed for an R rating. The MPAA gave it an R rating. The studio decides to censor the movie to get a lower rating, you're defending this decision, you're pro censorship. Please do not deny this.

reply

I never said I was glad it was PG-13. I'm saying I just don't care, because it really doesn't matter. Just cause it's now PG-13 doesn't mean it's automatically a bad movie. They probably took out unnecessary violence and stuff, things that weren't needed.

reply

So you are pro censorship then.

reply

No...I'd rather have a good movie than one that has content that doesn't matter to the story. I love violent movies, some of my favorites are violent and gory (You're Next, Inside, Martyrs, High Tension). I'm just saying that it really doesn't matter. The rating of the movie doesn't determine how good it's going to be. If they had to make cuts, then oh well. Life goes on.

reply

The fact that it's been cut should tell you it's a stinking pile of *beep* and the studio want to try get as much money as possible before word gets out that it's awful. Can you name a single movie that was originally rated R, then toned down to pg 13, that was anything other than awful? Also please stop denying that you're pro censorship, you clearly are.

reply

No, it doesn't mean that. You think that, but that doesn't mean it's true. And you don't know anything about me, so don't pretend like you know who I am and what my views are. I LOVE movie violence, but in reality it just doesn't matter what it's rated. it's just a movie, it's not the end of the world. Not to mention, studies have shown that PG-13 movies are getting just as violent as R movies. If you don't believe me, look it up.

reply

They probably took out unnecessary violence and stuff, things that weren't needed.

This is a quote from you, you are pro censorship, no ifs or buts about it, please stop denying it. You asked why people are complianing that this is PG13, I told you, it's because people are sick and tired of this kind of censorship happening over and over again. I have asked you why you support censorship and why you are pro censorship and you have yet to answer, please stop denying it,

reply

How can I be pro censorship if I don't even care? And how can I be pro censorship when my favorite genre is horror? Especially slasher films? Also, I said that because the movie would be WORSE if there was just random scenes of gore without reason. People would hate it. If there's no reason behind it other than the writers wanted it there, then it's stupid. I love me some good gore effects, but if it's just like "Oh random character gets killed with excessive amounts of gore without any relevance to the story" it's just dumb to include it. Also, they could've just cut it to cut down on the run time. I do agree that some things do get unnecessarily censored nowadays because a lot of people are wimps, but until we see the end result we won't know if this is the case or not. I still believe they just took out scenes that had no relevance to the story.

reply

Not that I'm interested in this anyway but cutting an r rated film to pg 13 will always lead to bad editing.

reply

Great, another retarded troll...

You're quite right! And I'd totally forgotten a lot of the movies you list here are PG13. The Ring, Insidious, and many others are some of the scariest and well made we've seen in a long while.

reply

An R rating is usually a good sign that the film isn't pandering to an audience of brain-dead 13 year olds who will just be staring at their phones the whole time anyway.

reply

PG-13 does suck sometimes, because it's the teenagers sometimes that want act retarded during a movie. Some kids ruined Oujia: Origin of Evil for me because they were so loud and not really paying attention anyway. It got to the point where they were asked to leave.

reply

Nudity and gore 100% makes a horror movie better.

reply

As predicted, the editing in this movie was absolutely dreadful, it looked like a TV movie.
