Most Annoying Characters

I found it really hard to finish watching the film because I found the two main characters so annoying. I constantly wanted to tape their mouths shut. Maybe it's because I was raised in an area where loudly bickering when lost, then screaming and yelling constantly when scared solve nothing. Either way, they're the main reason I rated the movie so low.

i was just talking to a friend about this movie today and i said the exact same thing, sarah_pugh!! the 2 leads in this movie were INCREDIBLY annoying!! lol. i was rooting for the creature/monster the whole time! lol.

reply

The lead, Niamh Algar, was a good actress, though! She wasn't stiff and could emote very well. It was just the lines and direction she was given that made it so horrible.

reply

They didn't even look at the tires that got stuck in the (very shallow) mud. It was clear right then that they were going to be useless.

reply

I see the completely unrealistic "inescapable situation" dilemma in a lot of lower-budget horror movies, so that just made me roll my eyes and get ready for a B-movie. It was the constant blaming and useless bickering that really started to annoy me.

reply

Exactly! I guess they've never seen a car stuck before and don't understand the concept of rocking it forward and back.

The way the girl reacts before pain is incredible, she is like Terminator or something, the director has no idea...

the movie is obvious, i saw this many times... always the same thing...

I don't know, I know couples who bicker like that a lot, myself and my OH included. We'd probs end up arguing if we got lost and were being chased by a vampire, I mean, we've argued over a lot less!

Do you like Phil Collins?

reply

I liked them. They were realistic, unlike with Hollywood movies. They felt real.

reply

To me they didn't feel real. It felt like their arguing was there as a filler and not to make them more realistic. A little bickering here and there is normal, but they were almost constantly at it.

reply

I didn't see much bickering. Most of the bickering was playful. And it's not filler. It didn't fill anything. This was a visual driven movie. The dialogue, what was there, was just to add realism. But they don't say anything all that important. I like that.

reply

I liked the girl. Thought her fellow was a bit of a tool.

reply

I liked them both. The girl of course was the real star and carried the film for me, but the guy wasn't bad either.

R.I.P. Rick Ducommun and Tony Longo

reply

You're right, the guy wasn't bad at all. He was bloody awful.
