I just saw this, and this is how horror movies should be made.

I was not very interested in seeing this movie. I read a very brief synopsis of it, and when I read it took place in an old orphanage, I passed on it earlier. I was bored, so I decided to give it a chance, but I wasn't expecting much. At first, the haunts were very mild. Later, they became so much more, as did the movie. The acting was very good, as was the directing and storyline. It's not that original, because there have been many movies that take place in abandoned institutions such as hospitals and such. However, they developed fun characters - especially Julie :D I recommend this movie.

I gave this a 7-star rating. This is how good horror films should be done, and it's the first one that I've seen in a long time that I felt really impressed by. My one problem with this is that I really don't like found-footage films very much, because they say that what it is at the beginning, making it obvious everybody dies. I prefer to see that for myself as the movie plays out. Anyway, there's an added scene after the credits, so stay tuned for that.

This was way better than I expected, and for the genre it was really good. I am impressed, there have been a lot of similar films released into the market in the last decade that had way more hype and publicity, but weren't nearly as entertaining.

I hated this movie... i admit that it was partially because i hated the two main charachters.. the one with the glasses and the "funny" guy... without them i would have enjoyed this much more, cause last couple of minutes very indeed creepy, but other than that i was bored and hated the characters...

Yes, it's been done better before, though it seems like the characters are always annoying, this movie escalated poorly

I agree, the closing scene is ridiculous, if the credits would have rolled without the tank scene the film would have been better for it. I guess the FBI has access to proton packs, ghost traps, and containment units now, and they must moonlight as Ghostbusters to subsidise their government paychecks. This movie isn't a cinematic masterpiece destined to enter the hallowed halls of the Hollywood Hall of Fame (not a real place), but it was better than I expected. I gave it a 6/10; admittedly I expected a 3-4 rating tops before watching it. Above average, which isn't bad for a film I've never heard of and certainly wasn't anticipating.

I'm with you the two main characters sucked badly

I didn't understand the final scene with the FBI agent. What was the whole fishtank full of smoke thing supposed to be? Did they find it that way and carry it out?

I dont understand the positive comments for this movie I thought it was a pathetic attempt of remaking a grave encounters type story. Grave encounters had believable characters for whom I could sympathise to and enjoy watching them act but in this movie I was wishing them dead. There is no real thrill and tension nor anything scary about this movie at all and why its got a 5/10 is beyond me. I give it generously 2/10.

Agreed. If you like found footage movies or want to see a decent one, watch The Taking of Deborah Logan if you haven't already.

You need to see more films. This is amateur crud......end to end...Cheap and acted VERY poorly.
There was a 'rubbed into the ground' storyline, and no direction at all.
What 'defies logic' is why ANYONE would call this silly crap, horror.

reply

Have to disagree with you there, horror movies need good endings.... "This is all we found" was DUMB AS LOL

Watching it now. I'm resting in bed due to pulling muscle in my back cutting up a fallen tree yesterday. I'm usually full throttle go, so being confined getting to me. I go ghost hunting occasionally and am enjoying this film. Your review helped me pick it, thanks a bunch! Good humor/horror movie
