Released in Tamil and Telugu

This is pretty fascinating to me. A theater here in Birmingham, Alabama has one showing in Tamil and another in Telugu. I'm surprised that there are enough speakers of those languages in the Birmingham area to motivate the two showings.

I understand the two languages, though related, are not mutually intelligible. Would a Telugu speaker watch a Tamil film at all, or vice versa?
