I don't understand the Hollywood anymore at all.

There comes a writer/director with interesting idea and is able to attract Keanu Reeves to star in it, then these executives take it all away and re-edit the film into some messy generic thriller to attract more money in box-office, and they fail miserably. What do these people who run the film industry think? Or do they think at all? There has been enough complaints how the audiences are getting tired of these uninspired remakes, sequels and generic crime/action/dramas that belong more into straight to DVD category than on the big screen.
