The documentary was amazing, but the sound mixer was God-awful

I watched this soon after it came out, but I decided to re-watch this when it came out on Netflix. I had to cut it off after a few minutes because of the terrible, terrible sound mixing job.

The "light background music" that plays during pretty much every interview segment completely drowns out what people are saying! Why is the volume so high on the background music? Turning up the volume to hear the interviewees is not an option, because the music just gets even louder and causes some speaker distortion.

I don't remember it being this way on the copy I originally watched. Were any changes made for the Netflix version?
