Kirk Cameron leads Christians astray

By encouraging the faithful to be materialistic and indulge themselves, by urging them to spend their money on vanities for their own pleasure, by spreading lies and disinformation about the Bible and the history of Christianity, he leads Christians further away from God.

Remember, Jesus called on his followers to give all they had away to the poor.

I'm not sure if Cameron is just a misled, deluded soul who deserves pity, or a false prophet who deserves contempt, or a truly ruthless, evil egomaniac, and possibly the Antichrist himself. (Remember, the Antichrist's role is to lead Christians astray, not be an open leader of Satanism.)

Any good Christian out there will abhor this film. Anyone who praises this film and calls themselves "Christian" is lying to themselves.

Well, it's Kirk... Some former child actors become drug addicts, others develop different addictions:

Didn't Kirk say a banana was proof of God's existence since it was so perfect it had to have been designed???

reply

I think that was actually his Fundamentalist Mentor, Ray Comfort, but it might have been a joint concept.

Then of course everyone with a sense of logic had fun with that one, pointing out that the bananas we eat basically are designed since they are a domesticated crop, and that natural wild bananas are inedible to humans.

Right, I've never actually heard Ray Comfort speak but I've heard he's batshit crazy. I've noticed creationists love to act like they know more about science than everyone else on Earth who has a pHD in some sort of science field yet they fail to demonstrate a basic understanding of it. Plus they simply cherrypick science facts that somewhat support their world view while disregarding everything else that refutes it and that also shows that they don't even understand the scientific method. In science you never start with your conclusion and then find evidence that supports it, you start with the evidence/data and then that takes you to the conclusion.

I must say the most infuriating creationist I have ever listened to is Eric Hovind and I have outlined my issues with him on the Eric Hovind board.

OK I'm about 30 minutes into this and Ray Comfort makes me want to bang my head against the wall:

No better than any other creationist out there, he thinks he knows more than all of the pHD's in science when in reality he lacks a basic understanding of science. He flat out said that the reason he knows evolution is wrong is because "just look at all of the beauty out there, it had to have been designed".

I do have "faith" in humanity however because I know he is just a very vocal minority.

Maybe he's just a dumbass whose understanding of his religion is as shallow as a puddle?

There are so many people like that it's a distinct possibility.
