Did anyone else think that the home invaders just werent that intimidating? I thought the whole film could have been a lot scarier if it was cast better! The main character though ... she did a great job!

shareI don't think the home invaders were supposed to be intimidating. They went to the house thinking it was empty which to me means they weren't looking for confrontation, just some easy money. They were just minor criminals who picked the wrong person to steal from.

They broke in when they thought she was going to be gone. Its very common for a particular type of thief who stalks the obituaries and robs house while the family is at funerals/memorial because its all in the paper. Its common actually. We had this happen to us when our Dad died. The cop that investigated our case said funeral robbers never return and rarely mean danger to the actual homeowners. They were genuine thieves not criminals that actually wanted to hurt someone.
