enjoyed this film when I saw it on Netflix except one glaring problem
All the Church talk was too much and over the top for a children's tween film

The real problem is that Lane was NEVER a Beehive (or even a Bee).
Beehives are a Young Women's class for girls 12 to 14. While Phoebe was a Beehive, Lane must have been at least a Mia Maid.
I still really enjoyed the movie 'though.
I think the point of the beehive thing was not only to show that Lane knew nothing about the young women rankings, but also she went WITH Phoebe, kind of like an emotional support person. She was able to calm Phoebe down in a matter of minutes, and Phoebe seemed more apt to be with the other girls when Lane was there.

Phebe had explained that the first year campers were called Beehives and Lane was never told about the groups history and organization on screen. So lane and the none LDS audience have no idea
I was none LDS in a scout troop with LDS friends and we did combined activities with the girls and until last week I thought all the girls group was called Beehives
I should write the sequel and call it "I danced with a Beehive"
