Ginny is a horrible "friend". One day i wont be there for you.

She clearly see her "friend" having a psychotic breakdown. And her revenge is basically "Well, someday you`ll be going through this *beep* and i wont be there for you and we will be even". Everyone makes mistake, but either she is just as clueless or she just dont care about her friend.

Both women were terrible, not just the one. All the passive aggressive conversations they had proved that. I'm guessing the one girl lost A baby or something the year before that, and her friend basically pulled ask the same crap to her..

I don't think Ginny realized how serious it was at first. As she said in the film, she always thought Catherine was the put together one. I feel like at first she thought Catherine was going through a tough time and acting like a moody teenager, i.e. eating only chips, staying in her room all the time. It isn't later on that Ginny realizes Catherine is going through a significant mental breakdown as demonstrated by her discovering Catherine is talking to herself on the phone, the stuff about her face, Catherine's reaction at the party, and her speech to Rich. When Ginny realizes, she's starts taking care of Ginny more, e.g. she stands up for Catherine in the dinner scene with Rich. But, I also think she doesn't know how to deal with mental illness.

I don't understand why people keep saying this. Ginny did care about Catherine and it looked as if she was the only one who was there for her in Catherine's time of need.

Ginny was the one who had invited her to the lake house, brought her food when she wasn't eating, continually inquired about her feelings & health and not once did she tell Catherine to pack up her things and leave, despite their arguments. While Ginny may not have been as emotionally available as Catherine needed her to be, she still made herself available to her.

I don't think any of it was any kind of revenge plot. I just think it was Karma coming back to bite Catherine for for the way she had been toward Ginny the previous year.

Just my interpretation.

Hope changes everything.
