Does this movie have heavy lesbian undertones?
This has got my curiosity.
It has none at all.
shareI didn't think so.
shareIt could be argued, but if so it's very deeply buried under the psychological tapestry of their relationship, and is never expressed (and probably has never been expressed) in any way by either character to the other. Having said that, there's a lot here about female friendships to unpack - and I think attraction is always a deep layer in friendships, especially dysfunctional ones. It's a brilliant film. Ambitious, silly, serious, and tonallly fresh. I really dug it.
shareTheres some adult themes, but the competition between the two main female characters and their respective heterosexual relationships are main character points. check out "Duke of Burgundy"; it's awash in all sorts of those themes.

@sly_3
I noticed none.
shareNone whatsoever, though that would have been an intriguing touch.
shareNo. Love is the last thing between these two 'friends.'
