You can't really judge these by regular movie or even TV movie standards. Syfy TV Movies are a category all their own. Expect them to have low budgets and sometimes silly plots and scientific explanations. The true test is whether they are entertaining or not.

I'd say that this one is a little better than the usual "Syfy Original" TV movie. It won't win any Emmys but that's not what people expect from these movies. Maybe it has more interest to people who have watched the "Continuum" series on Syfy, because so many of the main actors in this movie are also key players in that show.

The release date still hasn't been corrected by IMDb so we can't rate it yet. I'll give it a 5 or 6 out of 10. Maybe a little high, but I'm taking into account that it's a Syfy movie and many of the actors are familiar to Syfy viewers. Should I include those factors? Why not? Many people vote on other movies because one or more of their favorite stars are in it. That might not fly in film school, but for a civilian viewer, it does make a difference with the entertainment value.

Even by Sy-Fy channel standards, this was pretty bad.

If you put it that way, all SyFy productions are 10/10 :D

I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.

It has that killer SyFy movie name. "Icetastrophe" You gotta love it,I mean stuff like Mansquito,Farnkenfish, and Sharknado? You just know that they smoke a blunt and go "I've got it,Icetastrophe!"

Netflix has this listed as Icetastrophe and throughout the whole movie I'm thinking what's up with the whole christmas thing. Every other line from a character's mouth had a reference to it which became a real annoyance. ('It's not christmas unless someone is saved.' Really?) Of course, I get here and see Christmas is in the title. I wouldn't have watched it had Netflix used the same title that IMDB does. It's almost over now and I'm hoping they don't all join hands at the end and sing Silent Night.

I believe the name of the town is Christmas. Ironically, I believe there's only one town in the US named Christmas, and it's in the Orlando-Kissimmee Metropolitan area in Orange County, Florida. Where it does not snow.
