Why would a big family only have a little 2 person couch instead of an entire living room set? They are always having guests over to. It makes no sense, it's just silly

I would guess it's because of Danny Tanner's OCD. He probably thinks anything larger would be a trap for crumbs and loose change.

What's even funnier is given the real life dimensions of the house, that sofa would be literally facing the wall, nearly against the wall.
