Does this movie's plot remind anyone of another recent movie?

The plot of Crystal Skulls sure seems familiar to me: An evil group of people trying to use the power and knowledge from the skulls of powerful alien beings. However their plans are being thwarted by a college professor following in his fathers footsteps. Sounds like a copy and huge rip-off of the plot for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Though why anyone would want to copy that train wreck of a movie is beyond me.
