What was the point of the (spoiler) character?

Skyla's character. She served no purpose. The stepdaughter changing the will in Skyla's favor amounted to nothing. All they needed to imply was that the stepdaughter killed Jill's mother in the nursing home. The will was an unnecessary device.

Plus, what was with Skyla's accent? I get it. The actress was born/raised in Russia, but Jill had no accent! Sure, it was mentioned that Skyla modeled in Europe but it's a stretch to assume she would take on such a thick accent, right?

Pointless character.

I agree about the accent. It was very poor casting, and completely unnecessary since there are obviously plenty of American actresses who could have played that role. Siblings would never speak in different accents unless they grew up in different countries, which obviously wasn't the case with these characters.
