Don't waste your time trying to figure it out. It's not you, it's the movie. Bad storytelling, bad directing, bad editing.
My advice is to go watch Mad Max or Dark City, with Kiefer Sutherland, for Dystopia done well.
With no BS? Not likely. The entire movie was BS. It made no sense. I was sort of liking it as it went, knowing the entire thing would be tied up clearly and completely at the end. They suckered me into watching the entire thing for a crap, totally stupid, made no sense ending. That taken into account, you go back and try to judge the movie....and without an ending, you find the entire thing made no sense. Without BS? Not likely.
Without an ending to tie it up or at least some tiny bits of info given along the way, it's nothing but short vignettes of nothing. An example? The black girl out of her mind in the warehouse or whatever it was...the guy sees her pic later in his business? Ok, so wtf does that mean? Nothing, apparently. Not one part is explained.
I gave it a three only because it had Sean Astin in it. I like Sean Astin. What? That wasn't Sean Astin? Bastards even fooled me on that. Ok, it's a two.
