Was season 2 actually excellent or just vastly better than season 1?

The first season really had more problems for me than it did good entertainment so I wasn't planning to watch two.... but I ended up binging it and loving it. So many improvements from season 1, it's almost like they took all the criticism and listened.... so strange. For anyone else who's watched I was just wondering if was actually really good TV or just so much better than season one that it seemed impressive.

i just binged the 2nd season and i liked both seasons.
its just really good tv i think.
what were the improvements you saw?
will there be a third season you think?

I'm in the middle of second season now. So far I don't see much difference from the first season. Both are very good. I noticed that characters are more vulnerable in this season, which makes them more interesting.

EDIT: It seems there won't be a third season. Amazon cancelled it.

why the hell did they cancel it!? its one of my favorites!

I know, they must be crazy! It's such a good show... and original.

I thought that both seasons were equally good, except the last episode of the second season was a bit of a let down. Like they were trying to both finish the story (too fast) and rise new questions, except there will be no answers cause Amazon cancelled it. Which is too bad, because I'd like to see what happens when Hand of God goes against his arch-enemy Lucifer.

I read somewhere that this series is considered a "neo-noir thriller" which sounds about right. Both Perlman and Delany are excellent in this, but other supporting actors are also really good, my favorite being Dillahunt as Keith.

I can recommend this series to people who like original/bizarre/weird stories.
