Shocking, people do your research!

I took the stupid decision to watch this movie with my 2 kids without knowing anything about the movie, I knew it was about a girl and trying to save her best Freind, plus Tilda Swinton is one of my favourite actress ever. I was shocked of the amount of swearing, but that was nothing.... the second part of the movie was so shocking that even myself, as an horror veteran, can't take.
SPOILERS:
The rape scene had me jaw dropped, my 12 year old looked away while I cover my 7 year old face and years. Then of course the slaughterhouse was the complete horror package, including the heart breaking baby scene at the end that had all of us crying our eyes out.

My son is already vegetarian so this was even more shocking for him. It was totally my fault for not knowing nothing about the movie and thinking it was a fairy tale story. People do your research.

I would call it a realistic horror movie. Animals getting slaughtered is the reality of our society. The baby scene is really cute.
There is alot of swearing of course. I really don't have much to say about this movie, it is what it is. The most disturbing parts are the torturing, scene's where you see the crualty and awful growning and pain of Okja.

This is not a movie for kids.....

Now you tell me this after I already showed this movie to three separate grade school classes.

Yes, you should have previewed it before letting the kids watch, but you also could have just turned it off and found another film to watch together. Kids learn how to take control of situations from their parents.

This isn't a children's film. I knew that going into it. The only thing shocking is that you somehow made assumptions that it was a film for kids.

It was of course supposed to be shocking, especially the slaughterhouse.

That said, and I too love many of the actors in this project, this was a "meh" 6/10 film in my book. It fell down in several places, including their boring efforts trying make the corporation entities evil.
