Title meaning

Why is it called Mustang? What does it mean?
In Brazil is has the title of "Five Graces" which I enjoyed more.

I think it is titled "Mustang" in honor of Lale who like the wild, free roaming horse will not be broken easily (paired off in an arranged marriage) like her older sisters. She doesn't accept her fate and finds a way out.

My thoughts exactly. Lale is an untamed mustang.

Interestingly, the DVD extras include a 2006 short film written, directed by, and starring Mustang's director, Deniz Gamze Ergüven. In it she plays a rebellious woman named Lale.

I concur. All the girls were wild. Lale was still young.

I'm not a fan of the title. It just makes me think of the car.

The title should be "Patriarchal Hell : Lale kicks ass!"
