A masterclass in how to ruin a film in the last minute.

spoilers, obviously...

Im not saying the film was great... but I'd call it adequate.

but what i couldnt abide by was that atrocious ending. The films lead was all about doing the right thing, and how even if the wrong thing is done for the right reasons, its still not acceptable. We start off finding out that the guys who were being killed were actually guilty of something and this was a form of punishment.. but then in the third act, we're treated to virtually indiscriminate killings, and these supposedly righteous guys were also after a payday...

so what does the righteous cop do when he catches the bad guy? He helps him execute his target (which maybe i can let go, because of what the guy did for him re: having the guy in jail killed), but then he just lets him go? With all those unjustified murders, just lets him and his guys go? At the very least, after helping him accomplish his mission, he should have at least ATTEMPTED to apprehend him and drag him back to face justice, but the fact he just lets him go manages to turn an average movie into a frustrating annoying and forgettably lazy film.
