Grabbed this from the Redbox. It's one of those movie-only "Rental" discs. So, I load it & watch about half. Phone rings, I accidentally hit "stop" instead of "pause" (both are side-by-side on my remote). Now, I can't get it to reload. All I get is the "Universal" spinner, then the telly blacks out. I ring Redbox, get a lady w/ a heavy accent, I explain the problem, I get a free hire-code. But has anyone else had a problem w/ this type of disc in a Sony BR deck?

shareI had that exact issue with watching the Redbox BluRay on my PS4 and I was able to fix it by going into the Video Playback Settings and deleting all the data in association with it. I hope you are able to do something similar with your device.
shareThanks for the reply; wish I thought to do that, but I already returned the disc. Just bummed that I didn't get to see the outcome. Oh well, I'd buy it hoping that the retail issue doesn't do the same.
shareObviously your issue is old but I just had this issue with a underway disk. Stopped it. Went back to watch and got the black screen after the Universal logo. The issue for me was the Internet connection to the previews. Once I tuned off the internet on my PS3 it played.
